Shop, eat, and support local at Centerville Merchant Market May 21

(DAYTON, OHIO)… Centerville will host its own free, open-air market this spring with the second annual Centerville Merchant Market on Sunday, May 21, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Stubbs Park in Centerville.

Sponsored by the Heart of Centerville Washington Twp. (HOCWT) business association and the city of Centerville, this one-day pop-up shopping and dining event includes fun for the whole family, gathering more than 100 of the best local artisans, merchants, shops, and food trucks into a beautiful park setting. The line-up includes one-of-a-kind treasures, vintage finds, furniture, boutique clothing, jewelry, home décor, handmade items, food, beer and wine sales, plus live entertainment. Eventgoers will also have the unique opportunity to submit free raffle tickets to win raffle prizes provided by market vendors, totaling more than $2,000 in value. The first 200 participants at the event will also receive a free canvas shopping bag.

Merchant Market is styled after other outdoor markets, gathering in-demand, majority women-owned businesses into one location for a fun, quality shopping experience. With a dozen different food truck options ranging from fried fish, burgers and fries to gourmet desserts and popsicles, plus beer and wine from four Centerville breweries—Heavier Than Air, Loose Ends, Bock Family, and Lock 27— and family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, said Jessica Olson, director of marketing and social media for HOCWT.

“It’s really more than a market—it’s an experience,” Olson said. “Merchant Market is a great way to support local and small businesses while enjoying a beautiful day with family and friends.”

There’s no ticket required, and parking is also free at the event, and the Centerville Police department will be assisting with security as well as handicap access. Merchant Market is also dog-friendly! A portion of alcohol sales will be donated by HOCWT to local charities. Eventgoers should enter Stubbs Park from Spring Valley Pike. More information and profiles on vendors and entertainment can be found on the HOCWT social media pages.
